Products Microscopes SliceScope

SliceScope

The SliceScope defines a new bench mark in imaging and electrophysiology research. Developed in collaboration with world leading researchers, the SliceScope provides an ultra stable, compact platform with outstanding optics. The SliceScope’s smart design is ready to accept a wide range of accessories and light sources to best suit your application.

Based around the industry standard Olympus optics, the SliceScope has been designed to suit many applications. Techniques include: Patch Clamping, Sharp Electrode Recording, Microinjection, Stretch Testing and other procedures requiring delicate control and outstanding image clarity.

Inspired design together with high quality components guarantee super smooth motion, long term stability and intuitive control. For your demanding applications, the SliceScope offers the most cost effective choice for both now and in the future.

The Slicescope is frequently retailed in packages along with other items of Scientifica equipment. These are known as Slicescope Pro systems and ensures simple integration of all elements, along with cost savings over buying each product seperately.

If you are considering the SliceScope for Multiphoton applications you may want to consider our new Multi Photon Detection Module

The SliceScope's modular design allows you to configure your microscope exactly to suit your research. By implementing optics from Olympus you can be confident of image quality and clarity.

Choose from a comprehensive range of Olympus objectives, condensers, eye pieces and light sources. The SliceScope can also accept fluorescence modules and optics together with a wide range of contrast techniques such as oblique, IR DIC and Dodt.

Additionally, you can use your own confocal and multi photon imaging systems, and uncaging methods.

The Scientifica Motorised Objective Changer (MOC SS-3000-40)

The MOC can change smoothly between the two objectives and display within 'Linlab' which objective is in position. The user has full control over the speed of objective exchange. The intelligent motion will allow your objectives to be placed safely into your chamber. It also retains Par Focality and Par Centrality, so you can go from either lens and keep your sample perfectly in focus, and centrally placed by storing both optimum settings using the Scientifica control options.

Shallow Bracket

Slicescope-inVivoSlicescope shown in in-vitro (left) and in-vivo (right) configurations Having listened carefully to our customers, we have designed the SliceScope to be interchangeable between in-vivo and in-vitro experiments. This allows you to have a single setup to carry out both techniques saving space and money.

The in-vitro configuration of the SliceScope includes the nosepiece arm, condenser and substage optics. However, for in-vivo applications, the condenser and substage optics are not required and therefore can be simply removed by the user. This provides plenty of space to position your specimen around the SliceScope body.

For users who will not need to use the Slicescope for any in-vitro applications even beyond the current experimental needs, it can be purchased with just the components required for in-vivo use. See the ordering information tab for more details.
