Online design: The new Scientifica website
Over the summer, Scientifica investigated how users view our website to try and understand the experience and thoughts of its visitors. The results of this research became the foundations for a brief on the sites design overhaul. This week, Scientifica launched the new site.
More product photography was something that many people wanted. Others thought that the website looked a bit outdated. So rather than an ‘update’, the website has had an entire design overhaul. The product pages have now been designed to feature large high-quality photographs and this ethos is echoed throughout the website including articles and research job pages.
Lights, camera, action
It was apparent that the use of video helped better demonstrate products. On desktop and laptop computers, many pages now feature video backgrounds, giving a more immersive experience and a deeper understanding of the products.
Did you see that?
Faster loading times were instrumental in the technology chosen. Although video backgrounds have been included, users will enjoy faster browsing.
The previous website was responsive to different devices, however, the new site has a greater emphasis on the mobile experience, creating smoother navigation and a cleaner feel.
