LinLab

Posted 25th November 2025

LinLab software is included with every Scientifica motorised system and enables you to configure your devices to suit you, and your experiment. Our quick, easy-to-follow video guides walk you through common setup and configuration steps, so you can maximise the potential of your equipment.

Viewing and zeroing coordinates

The LinLab software enables you to visualise positional information of the XYZ axes, providing precise coordinates and measurements, particularly important for in vivo recordings. This video gives an overview of how the XYZ coordinates are displayed and how they can be adjusted or reset through the LinLab software.

Wheel direction

For some users the direction of travel of the control device wheels - clockwise or anti-clockwise - doesnt feel natural. Use LinLab to configure the direction of travel on your controller's wheel to suit you.

Follow Function

Setting up the Follow Function in LinLab synchronises your Scientifica motorised devices, keeping pipettes aligned to the sample as you move the stage or microscope. This speeds targeting and helps maintain stable recordings, and is especially useful for multipatch setups where relative pipette positioning is critical.
