Matt Kemp Proudly Hands Over to Reetu Santa as Managing Director at Scientifica

After 25 successful years with Scientifica – including the last seven as Managing Director – Matt Kemp will be transitioning into a new role at the end of this year. He will remain with the company as Business Development Director on a part-time basis, continuing to contribute his leadership, experience, and passion for developing people and partnerships. This transition also supports his ambition to rebalance his lifestyle after many rewarding years leading Scientifica’s growth and success.

From 1st January 2026, Reetu Santa will become Managing Director. Reetu has been with Scientifica for eight years, most recently as Operations Director, and is highly respected across the organisation. With a deep understanding of the business, a proven track record as a leader, and a strong commitment to customer success, Reetu is well positioned to lead Scientifica into its next chapter.

Reflecting on his time at Scientifica Matt said:

“I’ve been privileged to be part of Scientifica’s journey from a small UK-based team of just four people to a globally recognised leader in electrophysiology. Over the years I’ve had the opportunity to work with incredible colleagues and partners, and to build networks across the industry that I’m very proud of. What makes me happiest is seeing the talent we’ve developed here, which is why I’m excited to continue supporting that growth in my new role.”

Matt joined Scientifica in 2000 and during his career helped grow the organisation from a local business into a globally trusted brand in patch clamp electrophysiology. Under his leadership, the company has expanded internationally, strengthened its reputation and built an exceptional team.

This leadership transition has been carefully planned, with a structured handover between Matt and Reetu to ensure a smooth changeover and ongoing continuity for employees, customers, and partners. In his new role as Business Development Director, Matt will focus on exploring new business and partnership opportunities while continuing to support people development through coaching, training, and mentoring.

Get to Know Reetu

Reetu graduated from Brunel University with an MSc in Advanced Manufacturing Systems and began her career as a Manufacturing Engineer at a major defence contractor in the nuclear industry. Over 13 years she held a variety of manufacturing and operational roles, gaining both technical expertise and in-depth management experience in a highly regulated environment.

She joined Scientifica as Production Manager in 2016 and was promoted to Operations Director in 2020. In 2021, she also became Managing Director of Korvus Technology, overseeing its transition into the Judges group following acquisition. After successfully establishing processes at Korvus, she made the decision to focus full-time on Scientifica, continuing to build on the company’s strengths and opportunities.

Looking ahead, Reetu is focused on growth at every level — from developing people and strengthening customer partnerships, to enhancing productivity and launching high-quality new products. She is particularly motivated by the knowledge that Scientifica’s instruments play a role in advancing research that could one day improve patient care and outcomes.
