Postdoctoral position in Sensorimotor Neuroscience available at University of Fribourg, Switzerland

Job Title: Postdoctoral in Sensorimotor Neuroscience

Location: Fribourg, Switzerland

About the Lab

The group of Mario Prsa at the University of Fribourg is looking for postdoctoral candidates to conduct research on neural mechanisms of forelimb sensorimotor adaptation and/or proprioceptive sensory processing.

The laboratory is part of the Department of Neuroscience and Movement Science within the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Fribourg, comprised of a vibrant scientific community including more than 20 multi-disciplinary research groups.

Job Description

Movement is at the centre of all our behaviour and accurate movements allow us to properly interact with the world. Proprioception and sensorimotor adaptation are two physiological processes crucial for maintaining movement accuracy. The applicant will use state-of-the art behavioural, optogenetic, two-photon microscopy and neuroanatomical tracing techniques to dissect the underlying neuronal circuits in the mouse brain.

The Prsa lab is offering a fully funded postdoctoral position (1 year initial contract) planned to start in September 2022 (or earlier).

The Candidate's Profile

  • PhD degree in Systems Neuroscience (or related discipline).
  • Highly motivated, excellent analytical, experimental and writing skills.
  • Expertise in rodent behavior, optogenetics, in vivo imaging and/or neuroanatomical tracing is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, hardware programming and experimental control with Matlab is preferred.

How to Apply

Interested applicants should sent a letter of motivation, complete CV, and a list of referees to [email protected].
