Several postdoctoral positions investigating the organization and function of corticofugal projection systems in behaving mice are available in the Williamson Laboratory at the University of Pittsburgh.
The laboratory uses a variety of state-of-the-art tools to probe the neural circuits of awake mice to understand how sensory information is used to guide behavior – these include two-photon calcium imaging and high-channel count electrophysiology (both with single-cell optogenetic perturbations), head-fixed virtual reality behaviors, and statistical approaches for neural characterization.

The Williamson Laboratory is a member of the Pittsburgh Hearing Research Center at the University of Pittsburgh. The lab is embedded within the Departments of Otolaryngology and Neurobiology, and affiliated with the Center for Neuroscience (CNUP) and the Center for the Neural Basis of Cognition (CNBC). Applicants must have a PhD in Neuroscience or a relevant field and must be eligible for employment in the US. We are looking for individuals with a record of research achievements and expertise at the intersection of two or more of the following areas: electrophysiology, two-photon imaging, quantitative behavior, and computational neuroscience.
