A postdoctoral research fellow position is immediately available to identify novel mechanisms of cross-talk among microglia, astrocytes and neurons in physiological and pathological conditions (Alzheimer’s disease and Stroke). Transgenic animals expressing fluorescent proteins in microglia, astrocytes and neurons will be imaged, in vivo and ex-vivo, by two-photon and confocal microscopy during the treatment with new specific drugs.
The selected candidate is expected to apply immunohistochemical, cell culture, molecular biology, and biochemical techniques. Candidates with experience in rodent models of neurological disorders and/or in live-cell imaging (confocal and/or two-photon imaging) and/or electrophysiology are encouraged to apply.
