A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Adebowale Adebiyi at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Memphis TN. The candidate will be involved in projects that investigate ion channels and G-protein-coupled receptors in cardiovascular and renal health and disease. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to be involved in multidisciplinary cardiovascular and renal research. The laboratory utilizes numerous experimental approaches, including cell and molecular biology, electrophysiology, Ca2+ imaging, small vessel myography, live animal imaging, and small and large animal surgical techniques. The position is for one year with the opportunity for renewal based on performance and adequate funding.
- Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in Physiology, Pharmacology or related fields.
- Experience with patch clamp electrophysiology is required.
- Familiarity with cell and molecular biology methods, transgenic mice, surgical techniques, and a record of research accomplishments are also necessary.
- The applicant should be able to design and conduct experiments and write scientific manuscripts.
