The laboratory of Dr. Mingshan Xue in the Department of Neuroscience at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) and the Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute (NRI) at Texas Children's Hospital is seeking applicants for a postdoctoral fellow position.
Job Title: Postdoctoral Associate – cortical circuit and neurodevelopmental disorder
Salary Range: Commensurate with experience
The postdoctoral fellow will work in one or both of the following two areas:
1) Investigate the synaptic mechanisms of cortical circuits in mice;
2) Study the dysfunctions of neural circuits in novel mouse models of neurodevelopmental disorders.
The postdoctoral fellow is also strongly encouraged to develop his/her independent research program in the general area of cortical circuit and neurodevelopmental disorder.
Minimum Education: Candidates must have a Ph.D. or M.D.
While previous experience in neuroscience is desired, we are also interested in individuals with a broad range of expertise. Preferred applicants should have a strong research record in one or more of the following areas: in vivo two-photon imaging, in vivo electrophysiology, animal behavior, and gene editing. Applicants with a background in math, physics, or computer science are also encouraged to apply.
