Take a look at our Neurowire blog for #LabHacks guides to help you with a variety of neuroscience techniques.
Location: Long Island, New York, USA
Our lab has an open position for a postdoctoral researcher to apply neurophysiological tools to questions at the interface of the nervous system and immune system. Amongst other topics in neuroimmunology, we study how neurons and nerves (e.g. vagus nerve) signal important immune events, such as inflammation. The lab also studies the role of Nav1.8, TRPV1, and TRPA1 channels on sensory fibers in mediating immune responses.
The Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research is the research branch of Northwell Health and a highly collaborative environment for conducting research. We are located in Long Island, only 35 mins east of Manhattan with easy access to NYC, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
The candidate should have a M.D., or a Ph.D. in neuroscience, immunology, molecular biology, or chemistry. We are interested in candidates with experience (or strong desire to gain experience) with patch-clamp electrophysiology, nerve recordings, cell culture models, and immunological techniques. An ability to work independently while contributing to a team is essential. Come work with a vibrant group of neuroscientists, immunologists, and cell biologists!
