The 24th Annual Meeting of the Korean Society for Brain and Neural Sciences (KSBNS) is taking place as a virtual conference.
The primary goal of the conference is to provide an exceptional opportunity to update cutting-edge advancements and new concepts in the field of neuroscience. Thanks to the superb work of the program committee, this year the event has 3 world-renowned plenary lecturers: Karl Deisseroth (Stanford University, USA), Fred Gage (Salk Institute, USA), and Erin Schuman (Max Planck institute of Brain Sciences, Germany). Interrogating neural circuits in vivo using two-photon optogenetics
The advent of two-photon optogenetics has allowed a step-change in neural circuits research: Rather than passively observing neuronal activity in live animals, researchers are now able to actively alter neural activity on the millisecond level with cellular resolution. The recent introduction of several turn-key commercial solutions integrating spatial light modulator technology into multiphoton microscopes has brought the power of all-optical experiments to all neuroscientists.
In this seminar we will present an introduction into two-photon optogenetics, the use of spatial light modulators, and discuss example experiments, including data.
