The Department of Neurophysiology at the Institute of Physiology of the Eberhard Karls University Tübingen is offering a postdoc position for two years (with the possibility of an extension), TVL-L 13, 100 %.

The Candidate

A PhD in Biology/Medicine or a related discipline as well as deep knowledge of Molecular Biology (ELISA, RNA-Seq, CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing technique, design/production of viruses, etc.) and/or (in vivo) calcium imaging including the corresponding analysis methods (Matlab) is required. 

The candidate is expected to work independently within the framework of institute’s major research fields, including: 

  • Analysis of the interaction between the nervous and the immune systems of the brain 
  • Characterization of microglial turnover, priming and senescence 
  • In vivo analysis of signal processing in the olfactory bulb 
  • Mechanisms of integration of adult stem cells in preexisting neural networks 
  • Alzheimer’s disease 

Furthermore, the candidate is invited to contribute to the teaching in physiology, as well as to courses of the “Graduate School of Cellular & Molecular Neuroscience” and/or of the PhD program “Experimental Medicine”.
