Products Fluorescence Illumination and Optical Stimulation LED systems LED 1 Single Wavelength LED System (pE-100)

LED 1 Single Wavelength LED System (pE-100)

This source offers intense, stable excitation at a single wavelength.  The user can select from the extensive range of LED wavelengths.

It is designed to fit on all current microscopes.  A simple once-ever adjustment will allow optimisation to the optical path of your microscope. The pE-100 is supplied as a complete working package with power supply and control pod. Manual operation offers instant on/off and 0-100% intensity control. The control pod accepts a BNC-type external TTL trigger.

LED-integration-unit-thumbIntegration unit

The pE-Integration unit has been developed so that users of the single wavelength LED1 (pE-100) could combine several of these light sources to achieve excitation at multiple wavelengths under automated control.

A maximum of four pE-100s can be controlled at any time. Control is by USB and/or TTL trigger such that intensity for each wavelength can be set independently for each wavelength. These can be switched on/off either simultaneously or independently with microsecond switching under TTL trigger. The pE-Integration unit can be controlled through many popular imaging software packages.

LED-combiner-unit-thumbCombiner

The pE-Combiner offers the ability to use two pE-100s for dual staining applications. A number of pE-Combiners can be used to support multiple LED wavelengths on the microscope. The pE-combiner can be purchased as a package with defined pE-100 LED sources (as an LED2 system)or purchased separately as requirements change or increase.

LED-combiner-unit-thumbCombiner-EF

The pE-Combiner EF is very similar to the standard PE combiner but contains additional slots to accept excitation filters. This will allow you to narrow the excitation wavelength of the LED if required in your experiment.

LED-dual-adapt-unit-thumbDual adapt

The Dual Adapt is an accessory to allow two light sources to be physically connected to the fluorescence port of the microscope at the same time. This enables users to have a choice of either LEDs or mercury / metal halide without having to exchange individual source and re-align them. Selection between the two light sources.

Any of our LED excitation source can be fitted to the port at 90 degrees with the mercury or metal halide attached to the in-line port. Switching between sources is simply achieved by moving a mirror between 0 and 45 degrees with a lever. The in-line port has an additional manual shutter to prevent the broad spectrum white light source from interfering when the LED source is being used.

For applications requiring more than 4 LED wavelengths, two LED4 systems can be fitted to the microscope using the Dual Adapt. On this occasion, the switchable mirror is replaced with a dichroic mirror.

LED-light-guide-thumbLight guides

THe LED3 and LED 4 systems use liquid light-guides to deliver the LED light from the Main Unit to the collimator fitted on the microscope. Systems are available with either 1m or 3m light-guides. The longer light guides are recommended if there is limited space around the microscope or to keep heat, vibration or electro-magnetic radiation away from samples, for example when doing electrophysiology experiments.

These LED illumination products are intended for use on all microscopes. Scientifica product specialists identify the correct fitting for your make and model of microscope. Where possible, a fitting will be provided for any specified microscope.
