Products Temperature Control HCPPS for Pre-Heat / Pre-Cool

HCPPS for Pre-Heat / Pre-Cool

The heating/cooling perfusion pre-stage, HCPPS is used to pre-heat or pre-cool a perfusion solution as it is being passed into a cell chamber.

In the HCPPS, one meter of tubing is wound in a zigzag pattern between dowel pins set in an aluminum plate.

To the same plate is mounted a Peltier thermoelectric. Thus heat can be pumped in or out of the plate to make the perfusion hot or cold. To assure good performance, the zigzagging tubing is sandwiched by another aluminum plate. When cooling solutions, the Peltier can generate a lot of heat, which must be discarded; a copper exchanger allows this heat to be transferred to flowing water. To accurately control the temperature of the perfusion, the HCPPS should be combined with one of our temperature controllers.
