Welcome to the latest edition of the Scientifica Scientist Challenge!
This competition is now closed, and the winner will be announced shortly
After an excellent response to our last Scientist Challenge, which left Dr Davide Pau from Scottish Biomedical with a new iPod touch to take on his Easter break, Scientifica are pleased to announce that the Summer edition of the competition is now open.
To celebrate the spirit of British endeavour which Scientifica represents, this month’s prize is a high-quality Weber portable gas* barbeque, offering well over a square metre of cooking area. We’ve also thrown in a Weber gas utensil kit to get things off to a sizzling start. To enter, simply find the answer to the following challenge on our website.
Scientifica have now developed their website to feature their range of scientific cameras. You can visit our new camera pages now from the product category on the left of this page, or by clicking here.
Hamamatsu's range of scientific cameras have proven their potential for our applications and the most recent to emerge from their pipeline features a brand new generation of 'scientific CMOS' sensors. This device offers image quality equitable with CCD technology, but with higher frame rates and new technology enabling very low noise levels.
At full frame, this device offers a framerate of 45fps…
…but what is the fastest it can achieve, to the nearest 100, using sub-array binning methods?
This competition will close for entries on 30th July 2010, when a winner will be randomly selected from the correct entries. Only one entry per person please.
*Please note that due to shipping restrictions, we are unable to supply the gas required to fuel this product. This will be readily available from your local petrol station or DIY store.
