Designed for use with electrophysiology and specialised fluorescence applications, the objective has an insulative tip design, improved micromanipulator access angle by 22% (from 31 to 38deg). Olympus UIS2 glass formulations and the ultra-wide coating technologies have increased the objective's transmission characteristics by as much as 8-10 per cent in the near IR range.
